This July 6 edition (after the first half) profiles Bill Dillof, who died recently and unexpectedly, on this Across the Blue Ridge episode. An attorney who left his career and devoted much of his energy to old-time and traditional music as a performer and scholar, Dillof demonstrated unquenchable enthusiasm for the oldest recordings — and new interpretations. You will hear some of his playing towards the end of this episode.

Thanks Paul. Dwight and I just attended a huge gathering in Bill’s honor at the Collier-Bell house. Paula Bradley held us all spellboound with tales of Bill’s wide-ranging exploits. He was a man of immense talent and dead-serious hobbies.

That extra “o” in spellbound was for extra emphasis. 🙂 GG
